My name is Anastasios ("Taso") Comanescu and I'm from Pleasanton, California. Music has been a part of my life since I was five. I started with piano lessons from my godfather, but, when I turned eleven, my interest in the piano waned as I discovered two other instruments: the clarinet and the guitar. Of course, I chose the guitar, but, after about one year, I quit! Oh, the irony . . . But then I came across the flamenco style of playing and my interest in the instrument was rekindled. I found an amazing teacher in Charles Sedlak who would eventually steer me towards the classical guitar. Not long after, I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the guitar department here at Pepperdine as a student of Christopher Parkening. I enjoy many different styles of guitar, but there is something about the sound of nylon strings (with its variety of colors) which always captures my attention. I'm a Senior now and am looking forward to making the most of the time that's left. See ya at the concert! |
