My name is Anastasios ("Taso") Comanescu and I'm from Pleasanton, California.  Music has been a part of my life since I was five.  I started with piano lessons from my godfather, but, when I turned eleven, my interest in the piano waned as I discovered two other instruments: the clarinet and the guitar.  Of course, I chose the guitar, but, after about one year, I quit!  Oh, the irony . . .  But then I came across the flamenco style of playing and my interest in the instrument was rekindled.  I found an amazing teacher in Charles Sedlak who would eventually steer me towards the classical guitar.  Not long after, I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the guitar department here at Pepperdine as a student of Christopher Parkening.  I enjoy many different styles of guitar, but there is something about the sound of nylon strings (with its variety of colors) which always captures my attention. I'm a Senior now and am looking forward to making the most of the time that's left.  See ya at the concert!

“An exciting, young, American guitar duo of this generation." –Christopher Parkening

"It was a delightful, well constructed concert.  I am glad I was there.  Every selection was interesting and provocative." –Andrew K. Benton (President, Pepperdine University)

“Anastasios Comanescu gave a wonderful performance at the January meeting. He was joined by a fellow Pepperdine student, Austin Grant, for four duets. They are welcome to come back to perform for us, any time.” –American Guitar Society

"Taso and Austin performed a free concert for my church several weeks ago and did an AMAZING job!  Our church was truly blessed by their performance."
Gregory Daum, Pastor of Woodland Hills Christian Church

”Their youth, enthusiasm and potential inspired all of us.”
Jean Desilets, Ventura County Classical Guitar Society
