Austin Grant first started playing the guitar in his early teens, learning what he could from the recordings of his favorite guitarists and from playing with local musicians around town in Central California.

At the age of 18, he enrolled at Moorpark College to study the guitar with Ron Borczon and it was here where his interest in the classical style took root. Two years later Grant transferred to Pepperdine University where he currently studies with American guitar virtuoso, Christopher Parkening.

In 2008, Grant made his debut with the Moorpark Symphony Orchestra performing his transcription of Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto in A minor (Op. 3, No. 6) and in 2009 was the featured soloist with the Pepperdine University Orchestra performing Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Concerto in D.  His accomplishments in guitar performance have been recognized by both the American String Teachers Association and the American Guitar Society.

Austin is currently a Senior at Pepperdine University working towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in classical guitar performance.
